‘welcoming and open’ community

There is so much packed into this week’s bulletin it is hard to focus on just one bit of news! Our parish is overflowing as our snowbirds return to us and we are glad to see them all. YOU were greatly missed!

This week the gospel seeks to keep us focused on the service to others and St Steven’s has GREAT examples of reflecting back Christ’s light in service: Legion of Mary and their spirit-filled apostolic works; Knights of Columbus and their service to church, God, and country; St Vincent de Paul and their service to the poor and needy are just a few among MANY ministries and organizations in our parish.
Our ‘Spotlight’ ministry was on those that gather for the ‘Homeless Mat Project.’
What a wonderful example of providing for the homeless and less fortunate.
Yes, the community of St Steven’s certainly reflects Christ’s message of SERVICE.

On Wednesday, Fr Pierre and Fr Reggie presided over a special ‘Anointing Mass’ for the healing of the sick. We are so fortunate to have clergy that place an importance on these sacraments and who
stand and bless and anoint each parishioners, regardless of how long it may take.
Yes, we are truly BLESSED.

Yesterday, Saturday, 20 October at 10:00 am Dcn Dick a nd Adam presided over the Blessing of the animals in the courtyard in the tradition of St Francis of Assis. What fun to see all the pets and their owners!

Yes, it is a great feeling to worship and fellowship in a ‘welcoming and open’ community.
